Welcome to the latest edition of Blue Sky e-News!
At Blue Sky we continue to be agile, responsive and adjust to this strange new reality. I wanted to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our dedicated staff, clients and partners, all of whom are taking a collaborative approach in working closely with us to plan, act quickly and respond as effectively as possible, to meet the challenges of this continuing health crisis.
Blue Sky is known for our hard working, happy staff who have a ‘can do’ attitude and this has certainly been the case over the last few weeks. In the past 6 weeks we have provided deep cleaning and sanitisation services to ambulances in metropolitan Melbourne, responded to COVID-19 outbreaks at healthcare facilities, acted on requests to clean patient hospital rooms and birth suites follow suspected COVID-19 cases, provided high touch point cleaning in offices, building sites, medical centres and councils.
Although the restrictions have eased, there will be further positive coronavirus cases, and possible outbreaks. Therefore, to help keep us all safe, please continue to follow social distancing guidelines and do not come to work if you are unwell.

Rapid response COVID-19 cleaning “Sanitisation Clean” service
Blue Sky understand the impact of a suspected or actual case of COVID-19 in a workplace. This situation can have huge implications and result in closure of part or all of the business, create fear and concern for staff and customers, cause a reduction in service and therefore revenue. Our clients want peace of mind knowing that the cleaning company they engage is expert in sanitisation cleaning.
Sanitisation cleaning is nothing new to Blue Sky. We have many years’ experience in providing sanitisation cleaning in high risk environments such as operating theaters, oncology day procedure areas, medical centres and maternal and child health centres.

Do you have a COVID-19 business response plan?
As restrictions ease, businesses have a work health and safety duty to minimise the risk of workers and others in the workplace being exposed to COVID-19.
Businesses must be able to demonstrate to WorkSafe and the Department of Health they have a plan to prepare the workplace, to protect staff and customers, to provide information and a response plan if there is COVID-19 case or outbreak.

Monash City Council Clean Up Australia Day
On March 1st, a number of Blue Sky staff and their families donated their time to help clean up local areas as part of the Monash City Council Clean Up Australia Day event. We rolled up our sleeves to clear rubbish from Valley Reserve near our head office in Mount Waverley, and also provided staff to clean areas of Scotchman’s Creek at the request of the local council. It was a great opportunity to get the kids involved, and let them know the importance of conserving our precious environment.
At Blue Sky we love being involved to help make our local communities a better place to live!
Hospital Flooding emergency - Rapid response
Our emergency cleaning service, “Rapid Plus” was recently called out late on a Saturday night to clean up after a flash flood caused damage to part of a private hospital in Melbourne Our rapid response cleaning team and was at the hospital within 90 minutes of the call. Using specialist equipment, blowers and dehumidifiers the facility was ready for staff, patients and visitors the next morning

Congratulating Blue Sky employees on their new positions
We are delighted to recognise many of our employees who have either been promoted or recently joined our team.
Dishna Edi has been promoted to Group CFO, reporting to the Managing Director. Dishna has over 25 years of local and international experience in the accounting and finance field.
Congratulations also to Navoda Rath who has been promoted to the position of Assistant Accountant after three years at Blue Sky.
Lastly, a warm welcome to Sanjeewan Bala (Shaan) who has joined us as a new Assistant Accountant and will be supporting the CFO and broader finance team.
