Blue Sky works with a major hospital to prevent spread of infection

Cleaning of high-risk areas such as surgical theatres in hospitals requires specialised methodologies and skills, to ensure infection prevention and control. Blue Sky has consistently delivered outstanding cleaning and associated services to a major private hospital chain in Melbourne. Environmentally aware client aims for chemical-free cleaning

chemical_free
In a sign of the times, many of our clients are seeking sustainable cleaning methods to reduce their use of chemicals. In one example we recently installed a wall mounted chemical-free Tersano system at our client 7-Eleven Head Office Melbourne. The Tersano SAO Dispenser infuses cold tap water with ozone to create a safe, high performing stabilised aqueous ozone (SAO). This product is highly effective in killing germs and bacteria, and is scientifically proven. Blue Sky is aiming to save 500 litres of chemicals per year for 7-Eleven. That’s a win for the environment and fulfils many sustainability objectives for our clients and us. We are aiming to install multiple units in the coming months to a number of our state and local government sites. Please contact us to find out more!

From outdoor to medical facilities – not all cleaning is the same

On a day-to-day basis our staff work in many diverse client locations – such as office buildings, aged care homes, hospitals, parks and waterways. In order to develop the industry skills of our staff, we are rolling out specific training for these different environments. We started with hospital and medical cleaning training sessions in early August, conducted by our Client Services Manager, Andrew Dingli. Further sessions are planned during September to focus on parks and recreation. To find out more about the sectors we service, click  here.

Calls for increased investment in healthcare cleaning

A recent article in “Inclean Magazine” highlighted the critical role played by commercial cleaning services in the healthcare industry. Industry expert Dr Greg Whiteley has called for more investment in healthcare cleaning to compensate for poor hand hygiene by staff in hospital facilities. Effective surface cleaning to kill off bacteria can dramatically reduce the spread of HIA’s (Hospital Acquired Infections). To read more click here.
