Friday 14th and Saturday 15th of December 2018 saw the Hawthorn suburb of Melbourne receive an amazing 73mm of rainfall in a period over 12 hours, representing 71% of the monthly total for December! This resulted in a chaotic situation at Glenferrie Private Hospital where the roof was simply unable to cope with this deluge.
The Blue Sky Services Rapid Plus team flew into action and attended the site within 70 mins after receiving the emergency call from the Client at 6:35 pm. The team which consisted of 5 staff immediately went to work extracting water using two water extraction machines from flood-damaged areas which included Hallways, Nurses stations, patient rooms, waiting areas and the main reception area. A total of 26 man-hours on Friday night alone was needed to bring the situation in hand.
